The door went up to the laundry room today. We had to raise the opening a few inches to accommodate a standard size door, and discovered there was power going over the door frame as well, but it all worked out fine. Buying one of those pre-hung doors sure helps, too. It actually feels like a real doorway now, instead of a glorified closet with big bi-fold doors.
Pictures below.
(Edit by Cabol: The first photo is from last August when Andy was trying to catch the snake in the basement. We forgot to take a before shot, and this was the best we could find. Alas, it does not quite show the full horridness of what was before.)
God help me. I’m so board at work I’m checking your blog like three or 4 times a day.
Did you get the snake?
Tell Dad to stop holding the 2″x4″ up and get to work. He looks like a statue.
i love the look on your dad’s face. everything looks great!!
Yeah, he finally managed to get the snack into a trash can and took it outside. It was pretty funny to watch from my perch of safety.
Thanks! I love that door. I think I love that door almost as much as the idea of finally having a bedroom (and a closet!) again after almost two years. It’s an awesome door. Sometimes, I walk downstairs just to admire its wonderful dooriness.
The snake was not a snack! No snakes were harmed in the production of that picture!
