The top one is a 14″ jointer/planer. But it has a bad motor. Well, I was told it was a bad motor. I was also told it was 3 phase, which means I can’t actually test it to verify. Although I can’t actually verify it is 3 phase, either, since I can’t read the Italian on the motor itself. But it’s a pretty safe bet.
The bottom picture is a dust collector. It is missing a hose to suck stuff in and a bag to prevent the fine dust from spewing back out. I did plug it in briefly to make sure it ran. I made sure to point it out the door before I did so.
Update: This evening I was moving stuff around the workshop and looked closer at the motor, and noticed it was labeled ‘monofase’. My Italian is not the best, but I think I was misinformed about it being a 3 phase motor after all. Hooray!
Um, the capacitors on it also were a big clue, had I thought it through.
What are they?
Giant paper weights. Now we just need to find some giant paper.
