We sold three dozen eggs today, and I’ve got another sale for a dozen lined up for tomorrow. This is a very good thing. Our refrigerator was becoming overrun with eggs. So, so many eggs. How can seven little ducks lay so very many eggs? It wouldn’t be such a big deal if eggs didn’t make me hurl these last few months, but right now we only use three or four a week for baking. The ducks are laying about 6 eggs a day. You can see how things have gotten out of hand.
Yay! How much do your eggs sell for?
Hahaha how do duck eggs taste? Any different from chicken eggs? Wish I could buy some! We (really, Beau) eats eggs by the truckload.
$2.50 a dozen.
It’s been a while since I tasted one, but I remember them tasting pretty much the same as a chicken egg. They are bigger than chicken eggs, and Andy said he thinks there’s more white and that the white is more viscous. I’ve heard people say they think duck eggs are better for baking than chicken eggs, but I’ve never done a comparison. I used to eat a decent number of eggs, too. Oh, how I long for some scrambled eggs (cooked til they bounce) with a pile of buttery grits and a big glass of orange juice. Hopefully I’ll be able to eat them again soon.
You can’t eat that while pregnant? I mean, I know you should eat healthy foods and all, but you can’t eat THAT?
Well, I can. If I want to hurl violently about half an hour later.
Hey there, have you thought about selling your eggs to the convience store down the road where you and your Ma got the Pizza? Or, maybe another store? Have you asked your neighbors? Maybe you could use EBAY…
Love ya,
POPs
