Does she have any words? Even if it doesn’t sound like any word -you’d- use for something, if she always says ‘ta’ for ‘cat’ (for example), that’s usually a sign that things are on the right track, if a little behind. I’m sure your speech person will be able to tell you more and er, a little more professionally, and with some education to back it up.
