I couldn't help but notice that Ikea has what they call 'quilt covers', whose measurements seem suspiciously close to our duvet. But they are a lot cheaper than 'duvet covers' I've seen other places. I think eventually we'll measure the duvet and see how close it really is.

Plus, they have lots of funky colors.

We have one duvet cover I love, but we need two more for our down comforters which can get icky. But why are duvets SO FRICKIN EXPENSIVE? It makes me nuts, and it's not like you want to buy a crappy one since it's the first thing in contact with your skin.

I used blue tape on the white strip under the top. Usually I just freehand, but figured I would use the tape since it was awkward to get to. And now I remember why I don't use the tape normally - bits of paint end up bleeding underneath it, so I don't get the nice clean line anyways, and you have to go back and touch things up anyways.

Andy, nice job painting the dresser. Did you use that blue tape to mark off straight lines, or just do it freehand? And yes, you did have a Bambi bedspread and curtains that you really didn't want to part with.

I used to have a Bambi bedspread when I was a kid. I think.

I plan to do the mirror, assuming Cabol still wants it up. I kind of like it as just a dresser, though.

I like the idea of track lighting. You could have a fan that sets on the floor and not the celing. Have you thought about a lamp with a clapper to turm it on and off? That way you wouldn't have to worry about a switch.

I really like the dresser... It looks sharp!

I'm sure the hardware store in town would have John Deere sheet sets! If not, Target probably has them. Heh. Or would the greens clash? ;)

Catie has a cute little bug duvet cover. She's using the pirate one now, though. I think that would be cool for you, the bugs not the pirates.

Oh, and just find some track lighting (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60098051 Kryp means insect, but these look like fish? to me) to put up, and you can aim it where you need the light, so no need to move the fixture. And, maybe add some groovy wall lamps over the bed, one on each side, for nighttime reading. Like these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70072871 . (Catie has the one shaped like a quarter moon over her bed that is nice for her bedtime reading.)
