I only notice our roosters in the morning once the sun comes up, and now and then during the day. Once night comes, the chickens pretty much hide in the shelter part of their tractor.

Maybe they’re singing! Are there other cows doing backing vocals and dancing like the Pips (from Gladys Knight)? If they get a drum kit you’ve had it.

I didn’t realize cows moo-ed all night. When I lived in Florida our neighbors had chickens and I definitely remember the roosters cock-a-doodle-dooing all night. Do yours? Are they less noisy than the cows?

Hey Andy,
Damn, do I totally get what you’re saying. I got a coupon for 50% off of a paperback at my favorite bookstore here in New Zealand, and then remembered that it’s an hour and a half away to said store and we’re a bit strapped til payday. *SIGH* It’s also 45 minutes to any kind of real grocery store, unless I want to take my chances on the scary selection in the local “general store” (a pit stop on the side of the road).

But we have that incredible view of the stars and milky way too, and the ocean just feet away, so there is a lot of ahhhhhhhhh too. Luckily, no loud cows. They’re down the road.
