I got my engagement ring back, a year or two? later. The cleaning crew that came in to the apartment I shared with Psycho Chick, after she moved out (she was apparently a slob), they found my ring behind the washer or dryer. Yay for honest folk! Really though, it was too big for me, every time I waved my hand it flew through the air! And you can imagine how often that was, since I like to talk so much, and always with my hands.

Engagement rings are so loseable. I recall my friend Kim (hi kim!) lost her engagement ring, too. See...this is why I didn't get an engagement ring. Yeah. That's it!

For breakfast I had finished off the last of the Frosted Flakes. At the bottom of the box was a nifty prize. It was a step counter with Tony the Tiger's picture on it. I ripped the bag open and promply clipped it to my waistband. Later that day I discovered that it was missing! How sad. The brown chair is MY chair, you will find me sitting nowhere else. I was searching the chair for my nifty step-o-meter when I found the RING! Cabol and Andy were extremely happy AND extremely confused at the discovery. I was rewarded with a lot of attention and a glass of Andy's blackberry wine! Yum, yummy, yum. Never found my step-o-meter, maybe it is in the couch.

My mom lost her original engagement ring pretty soon after she and my dad got hitched. He was irate, yet replaced the ring and engraved it with our home phone number (how romantic). Twenty-five years later, the day after they moved out of the house I grew up in, the family that moved in found her ring wedged between the carpet and the wall in the master bedroom. She couldn't believe it, and ended up giving the ring to my husband to give to me (since we were too broke for rings at the time). It is much nicer than her replacement, too ;-)

Hahah so you haven't worn a ring for four years? I'm totally sucked in to the whole symbolism of the thing. I'd probably buy a Target cheapie one if I lost mine. But then, I'm a sap. And cheap.
